Because of the nature of our work—both on the winter road and off—safety is an important part of our everyday operations. Tli Cho Landtran has many safety programs designed to protect our drivers, staff and the shipments we carry.
Tli Cho Landtran has been awarded a Certificate of Recognition (COR™), the highest distinction available to contractors, which verifies a fully implemented and effective safety & health program that meets national standards.
Supporting our COR™ certification, our safety initiatives include the following:
- Safety training program for all winter road drivers
- Drivers are monitored for compliance with winter road rules
- Strict penalties for non-compliant drivers
- In-house auditing to ensure highway driver compliance
- Regular drug and alcohol testing
- Recovery team for accidents and spills
- PPE compliance in all areas of operation
- Consultation with clients and the diamond mines to develop appropriate safety measures and ensure safety compliance
