Tli Cho Landtran is a certified carrier for the Diavik Mine, DeBeers Canada - Snap Lake project and BHP Billiton's Ekati diamond mine. As a carrier for the mines, we are subject to audit by the mining companies to ensure compliance with Health, Safety & Environmental regulations.
As a federally regulated company, Tli Cho Landtran is required to follow all Canada Labour Code regulations and the Canadian Occupational Health and Safety regulations that pertain to our company.
We are also subject to audit by the Canadian Vehicle Safety Alliance to ensure compliance with effective transportation safety standards for motor carriers, drivers, vehicles, and inspectors through compliance, education, training and enforcement programs.
The Government of the Northwest Territories also requires us to comply with territorial standards as set out in the Large Vehicle regulations, and we have a carrier profile that reflects our dedication to safety and compliance.
Tli Cho Landtran is also well aware of the impact our industry has on the environment, and we strive to ensure our operations and personnel are always functioning in an environmentally-friendly manner. We have the necessary staff and equipment ready to respond to any spill or cleanup operation according to legislated regulations and best practices.
We have a comprehensive Ice Road Driver training program that is mandatory for all Tli Cho Landtran drivers before they are allowed drive on the ice roads. Our training program uses information collected from experienced drivers, The Joint Venture Committee and the Road Operator (Nuna Logistics) to give our drivers the best and most comprehensive training possible.
